nFX Log One Ensures Enterprise Compliance Requirements for Storage of Log Data
Edison, NJ – April 24, 2007 – netForensics, Inc.,
a pioneer and global leader in Security Information Management (SIM), today
announced the availability of nFX Log One, its new log management system developed
to collect, consolidate and store enterprise-wide security auditing and systems
management data. With the addition of the nFX Log One product, netForensics
now offers solutions that address the needs of all market segments, from large
enterprises to mid-tier and small-to-medium size organizations.
nFX Log One is a cost-effective solution that helps organizations comply with
PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, FISMA, ISO 17799 and GLBA, and other compliance
mandates by collecting, and storing relevant log data from numerous sources.
It combines centralized log and event consolidation with powerful archival,
forensics and trending analysis tools. It collects data from operating systems,
business applications, network devices, security devices, mainframes, access
control systems, web services and databases. It also offers a centralized repository
to store and analyze event logs.
“Effective log management is critical for identifying policy violations
and anomalous behavior while simultaneously helping organizations adhere to
regulations that require collecting and archiving event logs,” said Scott
Crawford, Senior Analyst, CISSP, Enterprise Management Associates. “nFX
Log One offers a robust log management solution for meeting compliance and day-to-day
security posture requirements. This new solution is a logical addition to the
netForensics suite of products and enables the company to more broadly address
the market from large enterprises to the mid-tier market.”
nFX Log One uses event normalization to convert event log data into a common
format for quick analysis and reporting. This allows network administrators
to apply centrally managed policies to the consolidated repository. From there,
they can enforce rules and policies, and generate alerts and corrective actions
when there is any deviation from corporate policy, or when suspicious activities
are detected. All the while the system makes data readily availability for reporting
and audit purposes.
“We are excited to be adding nFX Log One to the netForensics’ product
portfolio.” said Tracy Hulver, Vice President of Marketing and Product
Management, netForensics. “We recognize that SIM functionality is moving
beyond the SOC to the mid-tier and SMB markets. nFX Log One offers these organizations
an easy-to-use log and event management solution.”
Key benefits of nFX Log One include:
nFX Log One appliance version is available April 2007; nFX Log One software
version will be available May 2007.
